"Poetry is not a turning loose of emotions, it is an escape from emotion;
It is not an expression of personality; it is an escape from personality.
But only those who have emotions and personality,
know what it is to want to escape from these thing!"

~~T.S. Eliot~~

True Love

Love is not easy,
as they would have you believe,
it doesn't make you whole,
or fulfill every need.
The blush of a sunset,
the songs of the birds,
the poets expound,
but it's still only words.

For in time,
the sun finally sets,
and darkness will silence,
the birds in their nests.

We will be left
alone with each other,
using our hearts
to touch one another.

When time has passed,
we find now a trinity,
love in three parts,
friendship, respect and dignity.

These things are not given,
in fact they are earned,
and only with time,
can they ever be learned.

So the love of the poets
is a love without end,
when you look at your lover,
and call him your friend.

N.B. I changed the last line to call HIM your friend

Imagine...

Imagine breaths mingling...
Born of a sigh,
That comes from the heart
So eager to fly

Imagine the kiss...
So tender and sweet,
Senses bursting to life
As our passions heat

Imagine the touch...
Fingers burning to explore,
A simple caress
So desperate for more

Imagine the pleasures...
The joy we can find,
In joining ourselves
Heart, soul, body and mind

Imagine the sensations...
As we glide in motion,
Your body filling mine,
Whispering words of devotion

Imagine the passion...
The culmination of our need,
Each reaching for rapture
As your love pours into me

Imagine the peace...
As we lay trembling and spent,
For now, passions sated
Our hearts, once again content

Now imagine the hunger...
Burning deep within me,
Overwhelming desire
For you... only

Forever

If I knew that my love would make you love me,
I would love you forever.
If I knew that my voice would make you smile,
I'd sing forever.
If the sun went down,
We'd still be side by side.
Forever holding on to what we've got.
So if I knew that saying I love you,
Would make you happy,
I'd say it forever.

Butterfly Wings

Like the wings of a butterfly
Soaring in flight
You arrive in my dreams
Gently, at night
Like the wings of a butterfly
Traveling lightly on the breeze
The sound of your voice
Weakens my knees

Like the wings of a butterfly
It's flutters caressing my skin
Your touch awakens the passion
Burning deeply within

They soar and mate
Creating beauty as they glide
Sometimes softly, sometimes fiercely
All with strength and pride

Our love is like this... even apart
Like the wings of a butterfly
The beat echoes in my heart
