As Shelly and Alistair departed from the airport to return home, Alistair commented to Shelly that she was unusually quiet and had been the whole trip home. Shelly just shrugged, gave a slight smile and said, "You'll see soon enough".
Upon arrival home, Alistair looks at Shell in complete shock as there in their parking space is a Grumman Sailboat on a trailer attached to a 2000 Plymouth Prowler.
As Alistair shakes his head in disbelief
to ensure he's at the right building, Shell just smiles and nods her head.
As Alistair's jaw continues to drop, they proceed through the parking lot, through the front doors of the building and continue into the elevator. By this time, Alistair is wondering where he is and what's going on.
As the two disembark from the elevator, Alistair still looks puzzled and inquires "Ok, what's going on?" "Follow me", replies Shell with a twinkle in her eye.
As Alistair puts his key in the door to enter the apartment, he observes it is unusually quiet. Upon entering, there is soft music playing and candlelight coming from the dining room.
Alistair is taken aback but proceeds with caution.
In the kitchen are two waiters dressed in tuxedos with tails ready to serve the first course of their dinner. In a wine bucket contains a bottle of `75 Ducru-Beaucaillou.
One of the waiters approaches Shelly and asks if they are ready to receive their first course consisting of Lobster and Mussel "Chowder" with coconut milk, lime and chilies.
Both Shelly and Alistair sit back and enjoy the aroma of the Prime Rib Roast, Yorkshire Pudding and Pineapple Glazed Carrots coming out of the kitchen. After finishing a delicious taste of chowder, the main course is presented along with Broccoli Shrimp Stuffed Potatoes.
The wine is poured generously throughout the meal and Alistair comments how wonderful the `75 Ducru-Beaucaillou is. The aroma is superb and the taste divine.
Although they've both over indulged with this feast for a king, Shelly and Alistair manage to find room for a very small piece of St. Patrick's Day Cheesecake.

After dinner, Shell gently nudges Alistair and asks him to follow her to the living room. Once seated, Shell advises Alistair she'll return shortly.
Shell returns with a very large package
wrapped in paper with a red bow.
Inside the beautifully wrapped package is a painting by his favourite artist "M. C. Escher"
Shell leaves the room momentarily and again returns with packagaes in her hands. This time Shelly struggles with a very heavy box while Alistair attempts to assist her. Inside the box were several books by one of Alistair's favourite aurthors Mark Helprin. Shell had managed to obtain copies of "A Dove of the East & Other Stories", "Refiner's Fire"and " A Soldier of the Great War" "You're not done yet hon", Shell smiles boldy. I'll be back shortly
After presenting Alistair with the last of his birthday presents, Shelly surprises Alistair once again as she proceeds to read him some of her favourite poetry. After a bit of cuddling and snuggling, Shelly can't wait any longer.....she's going through major withdrawal......she just has to show......Alistair one of the love coupons that are linked at the bottom of this page - LOL
Upon waking early the next morning, Alistair rubs his eyes, wipes the sleep from them and wonders out loud, "Was this just a dream........or was it?"
